"Satisfactory" service caters to a "mostly Asian clientele" who enjoy the "cultural atmosphere" of this "shabby" hotel's location "in the middle of Little Tokyo", near a bevy of "authentic" eateries (good thing, since "everybody complains about the food" on-site); if being "steps from Skid Row" is "creepy at night", an "amazing" shiatsu massage and "heated bidets" should calm nerves, but they do little to compensate for "run-down" bathrooms ("sinks are unsightly") and "too dark" rooms that "need remodeling."

DVD player in rooms let's you bring your choice of movies.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Valet car service is very quick and courteous. Coffee bar downstairs is convenient.

The Japanese motif and sensibility, and the vibe of the surrounding area.
Too many pan handlers released from Parker Center.

For an authentic Japanese experience in LA there's nothing like it. The spa and massage facilities are first rate, absolutely the finest Japanese massage I've ever had. And the rooms with high tech toilets and spare Japanese aesthetic are soothing, clean and comfortable. ...read more

Nothing.
Paper thin walls.

Mildew in the bathrooms, parking was almost impossible, paper thin walls (I could hear the neighbor snoring), uncomfortable beds. Do not stay here.

Not a cookie cutter hotel; friendly and comfortable; loved the Japanese ambiance.
They could have a better coffee/light meal stand -- the muffins in cellophane are not up to the standards of the rest of the hotel.

Located in little Tokyo the hotel was a standout in a shabby neighborhood.
Shabby neighborhood.

I read mixed reviews of this hotel. However, the hotel was clean, modern, and lovely. I am disabled and we got a handicapped room with an interesting attachment to the toilet. My husband loved it! The dining was mostly Japanese food for lunch and dinner, but they had regular American breakfast along with Japanese. ...read more

Room was generally nice.
Bathroom paint and wallpaper and paint was peeling, looked unmaintained.

Good rate for room, but the location was not great, as it was in a basically all-business area that had nothing going on after 6 o'clock, even the local burrito chain was closed by 6. It was a quick drive to more active areas of the city, but nothing going on in the immediate area. Also, had to pay about $20/night to park in the hotel's garage. Didn't seem to have any amenities included with room rental, besides Internet access. Fees for entrance to spa and as well as any services. ...read more

The price was worth the value.
It was a Japanese tourist hotel so I felt a bit out of place.

I would only stay in this hotel if you have a car to get out, and for a cheap price. It was clean, free internet, and accessible from the freeway. But not a romantic place nor a place to lounge long in the room. ...read more

Clean and convenient with good service.
Room had a musty smell.

Nice hotel if you can get it through Priceline. Probably not worth paying full price. The location in Japan town made it very convenient to access several Japanese restaurants. I would stay here again if had to be in the area. ...read more
